The Authentic Rain Forest Experience
A two hour drive to Sarapiqui area, through the extraordinary rain forest of Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the most important rain forest reserves of Costa Rica. You will board a boat for a relaxing ride on the Sarapiqui River where you will feel in close contact with nature and admire the inspiring surroundings.
After the boat ride, you will continue with a walk on Selva Verde Eco Lodge’s private trails. Also included is a visit to the famous Rainforest Aerial Tram is included, for a ride on a gondola through the tree canopy in company of a naturalist guide. (An 11 platform zip line is available instead if you prefer more adrenaline)
Combo Tour- Poas Volcano, Doka Coffee Tour & La Paz Waterfall Garden
We will first pass through the city of Alajuela by the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. On the way to the volcano we will visit Doka Coffee Estate for a delicious breakfast and a coffee tour, in an actual coffee plantation where we will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica.
After the coffee tour we will continue to Poás Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems in this beautiful national park. Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail that leads to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the impressive hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house and the frog’s exhibit.
Tour to the Arenal Volcano Area & visit to Tabacon Hot Springs Resort
Situated a mere 91 km northwest of San José, the Arenal Volcano is one the most active volcanoes in the Americas. In 1968 it erupted decimating the small town of Tabacón.
Following a hike to a viewing point, we will visit the Tabacon Hot Springs where we will relax in the soothing waters and be caressed by the cool night air while observing the stars and the incredible night sky above the volcano.
Tour to the beach- Manuel Antonio National Park
Manuel Antonio National Park is deservedly the most popular park in Costa Rica with beautiful white sand beaches surrounded by emerald waters and jungle. Our naturalist guides will explain the history and geography of the area as well as help you get the most of your visit, pointing out sloth, monkeys, iguanas, and a multitude of insects and birds during this very informative walk.
San Jose and Marketplace Tour
This tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of San José. It begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards we will visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica. A brief stop will be made in a beautiful art craft shopping store allowing you to browse through it before returning to your hotel and why not, buy some souvenirs for those who are expecting you back at home.
Canopy & Rafting Adventure Combo (High Adrenaline!)
Costa Rica offers different kinds of white water rafting and fascinating canopy tours experienced from the top of trees. Enjoy both activities in a single tour. We depart from San Jose and drive near the Braulio Carrillo National Park and arrive at Sarapiqui where both adventure attractions can be enjoyed; the c anopy tour lasts 1 ½ hours as you slide though the forest on 10 cables of different lengths. Rafting on the Sarapiqui River (class II or III) along a distance of 8 miles which makes this an unforgettable experience for bird watchers and nature lovers.
Tour to Tortuguero National Park
Float down the canals of Tortuguero catching occasional glimses of sloths, crocodiles, fresh-water turtles, green macaws, parrots and howler monkeys. This is one of the few Costa Rican national parks where walking isn’t necessarily the best way to see things. During your boat trip through the fresh-water canals you are also likely to see spider monkeys and capuchin monkeys and dozens of species of birds.
Bay Island’s Cruise to Tortuga Island
This excursion departs from San Jose very early in the morning to Puntarenas, where you will board a yacht to Isla Tortuga (Turtle Island), a beautiful island located in the Gulf of Nicoya. At Tortuga Island you will experience a day full of beautiful skies, great ocean views and live music. On board the yacht savory tropical fruits and refreshing natural drinks will be served. Then, you will explore the island, immersing yourself in the calm clear waters and lush landscape, where you can take a swim, sunbathe, and/or take an optional tour like kayaking or canopy. Then a delicious lunch will be prepared by the crew.
